July 7-10, 2016 marked our 6th Annual People With Smiles Camp (PWS Camp). It was, once again, held at the beautiful Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children in Killeen. This year’s theme was the Olympic Games in keeping with the current Olympics. Got Pictures? Forward to jfinnerty@txpwa.org .
We had 36 campers ranging in age from 8 to 28 years old. We provided one to one counselors, as always, and had the most amazing group of volunteers work and play at our camp. Food was very carefully controlled by a registered dietician and we had no complaints from campers!
The campers enjoyed the many activities offered at camp including swimming, petting zoo, hiking, campfire, arts and crafts and an amazing afternoon of Olympic sports. We have some very competitive folks here!!
We are thrilled to be able to provide this thoroughly enjoyable and heartwarming event for our population every year. Keep on the lookout for next year’s dates. We will be posting them as soon as we confirm them.
